Summary
Akikonomu enters the court with Genji as guardian. The young emperor and Akikonomu are fond of painting and become close. Genji and his rival hold a painting competition in front of the emperor. Both exhibit their treasured collections. In the end, Genji wins the competition with a painting of "Suma", which depicts his own experience.
Comment
This is a story about stories. Like a play within a play of Hamlet. Various paintings and stories appear. The best of among them is the "true story" Genji's Suma Exile. that's interesting.
