18. The Wind in the Pine-Trees / The Wind in the Pines(松風)
"An altered and a lonely woman to this my native village I return. But still unchanged the wind blows music through the trees."
A poem by Lady Akashi's mother.
Mother and daughter moved from Akashi to the suburbs of Kyoto. What hasn't changed is the sound of zithern and the wind blowing between the pines.
Genji's Nijo mansion was completed. He calls Lady Akashi and his daughter (Princess Akashi) . But, Lady Akashi does not stay at Genji's mansion, but at a villa in the suburbs of Kyoto. Genji visits the villa and rejoices at the reunion. And he proposes to Lady Murasaki. that she would become the adoptive mother of Princess Akashi.
