33. Fuji No Uraba / Wisteria Leaves(藤裏葉)

‘You must take a peep at our new guest,’ he said to them. ‘I saw him arriving a moment ago. He has really grown up into a most distinguished-looking young man; and he dresses admirably. He looks to me as though he would turn out to have more strength and decision of character than his father.’
Minister (To no Chujo) was opposed to the marriage between Yugiri and Kumoi (21. The Maiden). But in the end, he reconciles with Yugiri. What he saw a promising young man.
Summary
Tō no Chūjō invites Yugiri to the wisteria flower party. At the party, the two reconcile. Tō no Chūjō acknowledges the marriage between Yugiri and Kumoi.
The daughter of Genji, Princess Akashi, enters the prince’s court.
Genji is promoted to a rank equivalent to the emperor. He flourishes along with his descendants.
